The Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz is a public law institution with legal capacity and consists of the executive board and the administrative board. The management conducts the business of the Studierendenwerk and represents it externally.
The administrative board advises and monitors the management. It decides on fundamental matters - insofar as decisions are not delegated to the management. Among other things, it adopts the business plan and decides on the appropriation of the annual result. The Board is also responsible for the execution or restriction of the tasks of the Studierendenwerk, the taking out of loans, the acquisition or sale of real estate, the setting of student fees or the founding of companies. The Administrative Board has 11 members with voting rights.

At regular meetings, the management informs the Administrative Board about the work of the Studierendenwerk. Usually, these meetings take place four times a year, alternating between the Studierendenwerk locations.

The Studierendenwerk would like to thank you - also on behalf of all employees - for the trusting, constructive and solution-oriented cooperation over the past year. We are very grateful for the - it must be said here - purely voluntary commitment of the entire administrative board to us and to the students in Landau, Germersheim, Neustadt, Ludwigshafen and Worms. We appreciate the opportunity to enter into discussion with the board and to be able to use everyone's knowledge to find the best solution for our work.

Resolutions of the Board of Directors 2022
Meeting on 22 March 2022 - Worms
  • The Board of Directors instructs the management to conclude the associated loan agreement for the construction of the residential home at Annweilerstraße 17 in Landau after the conclusion of the purchase agreement with ALDI.

Meeting on 30 June 2022 - Germersheim
  • The financing of capital items are approved, if not already decided by the business plan.
  • The appropriation of the annual result - transfers to and withdrawals from reserves - is approved on the proposal of the management, unless already decided by the economic plan.
  • The annual financial statements as at 31.12.2021 and the management report for the year 2021 are approved as submitted.
  • The annual financial statements as at 31.12.2021 and the management report for the year 2021 are adopted.
  • Discharge of the Executive Board: The Executive Board is discharged for the year 2021.
  • The Board of Directors resolves to appoint Alltreu Revision & Treuhand GmbH, Ludwigshafen as auditors for the year 2022.
  • The Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) subsidises the ALDI residential home, Annweiler Straße Landau, with a grant amount of 4,086,250 euros in accordance with the decision of 14.03.2022. The Board of Supervisory Directors retrospectively approves the conclusion of the interim financing of the KfW funds until their disbursement, at the conditions stated by the Management.
  • The Board of Supervisory Directors approves the rent increase of 30 euros per place and month to compensate for the increased energy costs in the Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz housing complexes. The price increase is to be implemented as of 01.01.2023.
  • Mr. Dubiel (Head of University Catering) is commissioned to plan/develop and work out a scenario for the use of relay canteens, which can then be implemented quickly if necessary. It should also be determined what new equipment would have to be purchased for this and what effects this would have on logistics, transport and storage in the refectories to be supplied. The background to this was the examination of scenarios for action due to the significantly lower capacity utilisation of the refectories and cafeterias in the first half of 2022.

Meeting on 06 October 2022 - Ludwigshafen
  • The Administrative Board retrospectively resolves that there are no objections to the form of financing presented [...] in the loan transaction to finance the new Annweilerstraße dormitory building [...].
  • The Administrative Board decides to raise the rent deposit for a place in a hall of residence in the Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz from € 400 to € 650. Due to increasingly necessary renovations, the dormitory management has approached the management with the request to increase the existing deposit amount, as it is no longer sufficient to cover costs for cleaning, painting etc. when moving out.

Meeting on 05 December 2022 - Landau
  • Mrs Anke Simon is unanimously elected as a public figure for a further term of office. According to the Higher Education Act, the Administrative Board must always be staffed with a public figure.
  • The Administrative Board shall adopt the Economic Plan 2023 in the version presented.
  • The Administrative Board shall adopt the medium-term financial planning 2024 to 2026 in the version presented.
  • The Administrative Board resolves to maintain the Studierendenwerk's financial investment in its current form and does not aim to sell the investment products with subsequent reinvestment in fixed-term deposits.
  • The Administrative Council resolves to increase the social contribution in the Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz for all locations from the current 95 euros by 10 euros to 105 euros per semester from the winter semester 2023/2024.
